How to use DARWI pasta

DARWI modelling clay can be worked on any hard surface. Always clean the work surface after use. Keep pasta tightly wrapped in a plastic bag or hermetically sealed container to prevent hardening. Store at room temperature. When pasta is too dry and has lost its elasticity, moisten with wet hands. When pasta is too wet, sticking to the surface or tearing when handled, allow to air dry for 1 hour or more. Pastes should be neither too dry nor too wet to work in optimal conditions. Clean modeling tools with water.

You can paint them with a brush, preferably using acrylic paints for greater durability (2 or 3 coats for a perfect finish), or tint the paste in the mass. To do this, simply knead the paste well and add a dab (or more, depending on the desired tone) of paint or ink. Remember to protect your hands with silicone gloves.

After drying, simply sand each piece gently with sanding paper or a sanding sponge. Use coarse grit for imperfections and fine grit for finishing.

Simply flatten the ball of dough with a rolling pin, using strips or magazines of the desired thickness on either side.

When dry, simply glue them together with universal glue. When the parts are wet, simply stellite the 2 surfaces to be joined with a pointed tool and fix them together with chamotte. Chamotte consists of placing small, unused fragments of paste in a container and covering them with water. Leave to stand, then stir to obtain a sticky paste.

Simply apply a protective varnish. For a natural, streak-free look, varnish with DARWI Matte Varnish Spray. For a shiny ceramic look, varnish with DARWI gloss varnish, applied with a brush.

Simply use textured materials such as lace, burlap, wool, plants, stamps or impression molds, which are particularly well-suited to this paste.
